Arm Lift Surgery vs Arm Liposuction

Arm Lift Surgery vs Arm Liposuction

Everyone might have seen someone with big bulging and saggy arms, and we all might have thought it to be because of the fat and obesity. Yes, fat makes the arms get bulged and saggy but do you know such arms could also be the reason of excess loss of skin?

Our arm is the part of the body where excessive stubborn fat gets collected and doesn’t respond to any type of exercise or diet. At that moment, the fat is first removed from the part of the arm but what happens next is that you have to witness extra sagging skin. Which could be the best procedure to remove excess weight and skin from our arms section?

Liposuction and arm lift surgery – which is best for you?

Arm liposuction and arm lift surgery, are two treatments that are applied to the arms to reshape them.  Before moving further, let us first know the difference between arm lift surgery and arm liposuction.

Arm liposuction:

Arm liposuction is done on the upper parts of the arm. It is usually recommended to the patients who have a huge amount of fat in that particular area along with a good skin tone that could get back to shape easily. Liposuction solely addresses fats. In this procedure, incisions are made on the part o the body that is to be treated and then small cannulas are inserted into the fat with a suction device that removes the fat out from the body. In some cases after liposuction, laser treatment is done to tighten the skin.

Indeed liposuction causes no scar on the body and it will not be suitable for the patient with extra saggy skin that is too loose and bulging. The reason is that your skin will be left more sagging and bulging. It is a good option for those who have elasticity in their skin because it will cause the skin to naturally snap back after the removal of excess fat.

 Arm Lift surgery:

An arm lift surgery is usually done to remove the extra sagging skin from the arms of an individual. This surgery is also known as “Brachioplasty”. Excess loose skin is typically caused due to excessive weight loss and it does not go away easily or on its own ending with giving you the appearance of bat wings or tuck shop arms. At this moment an arm lift surgery is applied on the patient. Although this surgery will leave scars but hidden on the underside of the arms. Moreover, skin sagginess can also be caused by several other factors like age, poor nutrition, excess smocking and intake of drugs, excessive sun exposure, or any medical condition.

Liposuction + arm lift surgery:

A treatment plan combined with liposuction and arm lift surgery is recommended for patients who have extensive upper arm issues. This treatment is commonly performed and there is nothing to worry about. Although in this treatment, the surgeon performs the liposuction first to remove the excess fat, and then an arm lift surgery is performed to remove the excess skin that is left sagging after the removal f fat. However, this procedure allows the surgeon to completely sculpt and tone the patient’s skin.

 Conclusion:

We have briefly explained both the procedures in this article. Arm liposuction is done to remove extra fat from the upper arm section whereas arm lift surgery is performed to remove the excess skin after weight loss. Some people prefer both the treatment together to tone and enhance the beauty of their arm.  Hope this article will prove helpful to you.
